The little munchkin has strep throat. I just knew something was wrong with him and I was right. I guess it's just that mother's instinct we always hear so much about. Despite the fact that we arrived at the Dr's office at 4:15 but didn't leave until 6:20, it was well worth it. The Dr gave him a penicillian shot and today was much better for all of us!

Sick Days
The little munchkin is sick! He has been sick since Saturday, the poor guy! His little nose is red and runny. When I try to wipe it, he hits me, the tissue, and tries to rip out my hair until I stop. He is going to the doctor today because I think he might have a fever and maybe an ear infection. His mood swings are just amazing. One minute he wants to sit with me in the chair and rock the next minute he is trying to pull me up and make me walk around with him while he cries and bites me. This has been one long week!

A New Friend
Today our new friend Max and his mom came over to play. At first our guy wouldn't do anything but sit in my lap. Max was amazed by all the deer heads and fish on our walls, so it didn't take long for the two of them to start babbling to each other. Even though we couldn't figure out a word they were saying, we could tell they were having a conversation because Max was pointing as the talked back and forth. Max goes to gymboree and last week I figured out that they also live in our neighborhood. Now we have a new friend close by!

A Busy Day
What a busy day our little guy had! We started off with our usual walk with the neighbors. Nicholas and his friend Josh chatted away us moms carried on with our conversations. Then off we went to gymboree where he learned about circles. Of course, he did not pay much attention to Miss Sara, who was trying her hardest to catch his attention. She tried hoops, balls, bean bags in the shape of circles and even circle shaped tunnels. That's was OK, we pointed out all the circles we saw on the way home. We couldn't forget to pick up the pictures of him and Kailey in their Halloween costumes from Sears after gymboree. They are just the cutest children! Since we were so close to Chic Fila we stopped there for lunch and proceeded to wear all of the lemonade instead of drinking it. Our final stop was Publix for last minute groceries to hold us over the weekend. I do not dare go out over the weekend because it is the beginning of snowbird season in our sunny land. On our way home the little pumpkin fell asleep with his mouth hanging open, probably dreaming of circles and groceries.

The Mall Outing
A quick trip to the mall means snack heaven to my child. As we enter my favorite store, Burdines, the snacking begins. All it takes is a little whine and out comes the Blues Clues fruit snacks. Soon all of these gooey little guys are crammed into the mouth and the wrapper is tossed carelessly onto the floor. We are now only two feet away from the door we just entered. Off we head to the mens department to look for those elusive men's Christmas gifts that are never quite right. Soon my little one lets me know it's time for the next treat or else. We move onto strawberry flavored Cranraisins. I am able to pick up one shirt before that wrapper is tossed aside and the screaming begins. I frantically check the diaper bag and realize there is only one snack left! A sad breakfast bar that has been smushed and neglected for who knows how long. This keeps him quiet long for me to purchase the shirt. I quickly try to think of a solution and I come up with a pretzel! We make a mad dash for the mall, moving as quickly as possible to keep the little guy from trying to break free from the stroller. It doesn't take long before I realize that we are on the wrong side of the mall for pretzels! Trying not to panic, I rack my brain for the mall map that is stored up there from the days before I had a baby. As I picture it I realize that only steps away is the cookie store! I sigh in relief and buy one of each kind of cookie! My son is now happy as can be and covered in chocolate. People are staring at my little cookie monster and probably wondering what kind of a mother would allow this mess! But do I care? How can I when he is so obviously happy and I have earned another 45 mintues at the mall with my messy yet content little one.

The End of Sippy Cups
Sippy cups are such a wonderful invention. They stop spilling, choking, stains, and keep moms sane. Then the dreadful day comes when the child no longer wants the sippy. Instead he wants drink boxes, straws, and the horrible cup that comes with a happy meal, flimsy lid and all! Along with this comes ruined clothes, long meals in restaurants when the entire drink spills and can't be replaced quickly enough for the screaming baby! I think there should be a book that describes stages such as this one. It would be so much more helpful than those that describe stages such as walking, crawling, etc. Those I can figure out, this one is much more difficult to navigate!

Terrible Twos already??!!
Can it be that at only 18 1/2 months a child can begin the terrible twos? So far we have endured three days of biting and one day of toys being launched at our heads. Is this the beginning, our punishment for our behavior as a children coming back to haunt us? If so, we are really in for it. Our history of a broken leg at 18 months, raisins up the nose at 20 months, stitches at 22 months will be haunting us at every turn!
